TIPS OF THE TRADE # 2

In most models, the rear drum bushing can be greased while the drum is out, and the nylon support glides attached to the inside of the dryer front can be checked for wear and replaced as necessary. Some models the glides must be replaced every 3-5 years, much like the brake pads on your car. Replacing the glides will cost far less than replacing the entire assembly to which they are attached.

On all the top-filter Kenmore and Whirlpool models there are 2 rubber rollers supporting the rear of the drum, which should be lubricated lightly with white lithium grease in the shaft/bushing area, or replaced if worn. Also we remove and lubricate the idler pulley on it's shaft with a light machine oil or turbine oil.
In short, you will most likely avoid a surprise break down. Your dryer will definitely work much more efficient, be safer and last a lot longer.

Dishwasher

If your machine doesn’t get the dishes clean, run the hot water at the sink until it gets warm before starting the dishwasher. This will help the first wash cycle to be much hotter. Hot water is necessary to clean dishes and make them more sanitary.
When we check dishwashers, many times we find the pump section and spray arms have foreign materials that build up over time and interfere with good washing. We will make sure it works like it was designed to and like new again.
